1xBet nets global partnership with LaLiga’s Barcelona
Online gaming operator 1xBet as entered into a partnership with Spanish LaLiga football champion FC Barcelona.
The five-year deal covers the 2019-20 to 2023-24 seasons, with 1xBet to serve as an official global partner of the team.
1xBet will work with the club on a wide range of activations, including access to first team players to create promotional material and marketing campaigns.
The operator has similar commercial deals in place with Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League, as well as Italy’s Serie A top-tier club competition.
“We are certain that 1xBet has something to offer to all FC Barcelona fans; we expect that the cooperation of two world-class brands will be lucrative for both parties,” 1xBet spokesperson, Alex Sommers, said.
Josep Pont, head of commercial for Barcelona, added: “We are convinced that this deal with 1xBet will help us to continue to grow both on and off the field.
“This deal consolidates our global expansion strategy and we are sure that it will help us to connect with new sports fans all around the world.”
The agreement comes after Barcelona’s LaLiga rivals Sevilla and Valencia also announced commercial deals with betting operators in recent weeks. Sevilla has signed a partnership with Marathonbet, while Valencia has linked up with bwin.
