Canadian media company The Sports Network (TSN) has launched a new fantasy sports service in partnership with American football competition the Canadian Football League (CFL).

The free-to-play game will run throughout the upcoming season, which is due to begin on June 22.

Players will be able to select six active offensive players as well as a defence from one of the CFL’s nine teams, while adhering to a salary cap.

TSN CFL Fantasy managers will be able to win a number of weekly prizes, while the overall champion will win a trip for two to the 105th Grey Cup.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to offer sports fans, whether they have always loved the CFL, are new to the CFL, or just love to play fantasy sports, a product that is challenging and exciting while easy and fun to use,” CFL senior vice-president of marketing and content, Christina Litz, said.

Ken Volden, vice-president and executive producer, news and information at TSN, added: “TSN and the CFL have a longstanding partnership, and we are excited to expand on that as we launch TSN CFL Fantasy.

“We look forward to seeing fans immerse themselves in the on-field action as they compete for prizes throughout the upcoming CFL season.”
