Loterie Romande has signed a partnership deal with Camelot Global, the purpose of which is to modernise and enhance the functionality of its www.loro.ch online gaming platform. The new site promises to be both fun and versatile, enabling players resident in French-speaking Switzerland to have access to a broader range of games on all interactive and mobile devices and media. In a world of thousands of illegal Internet gambling and betting sites, most of which avoid being supervised by the authorities, Loterie Romande, staying true to its wide-ranging social-responsibility policies, can stand out from this crowd, offering its players a platform of games online that are totally reliable and secure, protected with the most efficient and appropriate safeguarding mechanisms to preclude those risks associated with excess gambling.
Since 2010, Loterie Romande has been successfully offering players its www.loro.ch online gaming platform. As part of its drive to improve interactivity on the platform and make it compatible across the array of support media – PCs, tablets and smartphones – Loterie Romande has signed a partnership deal with Camelot Global. Through this partnership, Loterie Romande will be acquiring a new system to enable it to develop an online games site that is fun, modern and secure. The aim is to fulfil the expectations of new generations of players who are ever keener on using their mobile devices. As Jean-Luc Moner-Banet, Loterie Romande's CEO, points out, “the habits of those playing online are evolving fast to keep pace with technological advances. More and more players want to access our online gaming site from their tablets and smartphones; this explains why our new platform will be designed so it can be adapted in an optimum way to work with these devices.”
Partnership with one of the giants of the European lotteries sector
“Our partner in this venture is the sister company of the UK National Lottery company that specialises in the digital world and which knows, inside out, the exacting demands required in the lotteries industry“, explains Jean-Luc Moner-Banet. Camelot Global also has a corporate culture geared to striving non-stop for innovation and optimisation, which should stand us in good stead as a guarantee for the sustainability and ongoing development of the platform. Nigel Railton, Chief Executive of Camelot Global, commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded this significant contract following a rigorous selection process. Loterie Romande has a long history of innovation and delivering new and exciting games to their customers. By partnering with Loterie Romande, Camelot Global will deliver its industry-leading eGaming platform and implementation process enabling them to move at the speed of the market to interact with their players – giving them the opportunity to play whenever and wherever they want. We look forward to working with Loterie Romande over the coming years to deliver this contract.”
Let's play responsibly
For more than 15 years, Loterie Romande has pursued and developed an extensive Responsible Gaming programme designed to prevent and combat gambling to excess. As part of this programme, Loterie Romande has put in place stringent measures to moderate gambling and to check the age and place of residence of those players opening an online gaming account. Registering – a compulsory requirement – is restricted exclusively to individuals aged over 18 years and resident in one of the six French-speaking Swiss cantons. The possibility for all users to set a cap on their spending (compulsory for some games), the possibility to self-assess their gambling behaviour and the possibility to exclude themselves from playing feature among several of the gambling moderators already in use on Loterie Romande's existing www.loro.ch online gaming platform.
