Global Gaming has expanded beyond its core casino offering for the first time with the launch of a new sportsbook for its flagship Ninja Casino brand.

The new product is powered by betting technology provider Altenar, and was first revealed by Global chief executive Tobias Fagerlund earlier this month, following the publication of the operator’s half year results.

It comes amid the operator’s efforts to rebuild the business following the loss of its Swedish operating licence in June 2019, which saw Global’s access to a market from which it generated 75% of revenue cut off.

This appears to be succeeding. For the six months to 30 June, Global cut its net loss by more than half, to SEK53.3m, having posted a small net profit in the second quarter of 2020.

“With a focus on delivering outstanding gaming experiences, we are very excited to further enhance our product offerings by launching betting on our flagship brand Ninja Casino,” Global Gaming chief customer officer Slava Korneychik said. “Our partnership with Altenar gives [us] a very competitive sports betting product to ensure our growth focus.”

Altenar chief executive Stanislav Silin added that the supplier was “delighted” to have signed up Global Gaming as a customer.

“[We are] really looking forward to solidifying this working relationship that we built in the last months with [a] good sports betting performance,” Silin added.

Following its expansion into sports betting, Global now aims to move into new markets during the third quarter of the year.
