My client, a leading company in the iGaming industry, is looking for a Data Engineer to join their team in Malta.
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join the expanding BI & Data Infrastructure team.
In this role, you will assume a crucial position in our endeavor to construct a strong and flawless data model.
Their existing data infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud Platform, where they carry out data processing in both streaming and batch modes. Notably, they are currently in the midst of migrating their infrastructure to Azure Databricks, which promises to unlock fresh opportunities for innovation and expansion.
Main Responsibilities:
- Establish and Sustain a Reliable Data Warehouse: Develop and maintain an efficient and dependable data warehouse, serving as the cornerstone of our data-centric operations.
- Architect and Deploy Scalable Data Pipelines: Employ dbt and BigQuery, with future integration into Databricks, to create highly scalable data pipelines customized to meet specific business requirements.
- Enforce Best Practices in Software Development: Ensure strict adherence to software development best practices, including robust monitoring and efficient debugging methodologies.
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence Developers: Forge close partnerships with BI developers to continually enhance our data processes and pioneer inventive data solutions that propel business expansion.
- Engage with Various Business Units: As a Data Engineer, you’ll have a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with diverse business units throughout the organization.
Desired experience and skillset:
- 3+ years of relevant experience is a must.
- Proficiency in Data Modeling: The capability to create and construct data models that enhance data accessibility, efficiency, and quality.
- Proficiency in crafting real-time data processing solutions.
- ETL Pipeline Development: Proficiency in designing and developing ETL data pipelines and coordinating data processes.
- Knowledge of analytics platforms like Google BigQuery, Azure Data Warehouse, AWS Redshift, or similar technologies.
- Advanced SQL Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of SQL, encompassing intricate query design, with a strong commitment to ongoing learning.
- Proficient in Python or Scala.
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical area.
- Communication Skills: Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in the iGaming industry is considered an additional advantage.
