Site Reliability Engineer – Hybrid in Malta

My Client in the iGaming industry is looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join their growing team in Malta! 

This position is Hybrid! 

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor production environments and proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and issues.
• Manage resources effectively, including capacity planning, load balancing, and optimising system utilisation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain reporting boards for tracking system health, performance metrics, and incident management.
• Daily monitoring, troubleshooting and upkeep all services to ensure maximum availability.
• Build, install, configure, and maintain systems in both physical and virtual environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents promptly to minimise downtime and impact on end-users.
• Ensure compliance with best practices for security, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimise application performance and stability.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Previous experience as an SRE or similar
• Strong experience with Linux
• Proficiency in on-prem server management and monitoring tools
• Strong knowledge of GitLab pipelines for Java and/or C++
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment
• Familiarity with databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to system monitoring and performance optimization
