Murray Jordan resigns from SkyCity board amid snap lockdown

| By Marese O'Hagan
SkyCity Entertainment Group has announced the resignation of Murray Jordan from the SkyCity board.

The resignation will take effect from 30 September 2021.

Jordan joined the SkyCity board in December 2016 and had chaired the board’s People and Culture Committee since January 2018.

He also oversaw SkyCity’s New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) and Horizon Hotel project in Auckland, in the role of chair of the board’s NZICC sub-committee.

Last week SkyCity announced the closure of its Auckland and Hamilton locations, along with its Queenstown casino and entertainment location, due to the snap novel coronavirus (Covid-19) nationwide lockdowns.

The measures follow a single positive Covid-19 case in the Auckland community.

Auckland and Coromandel are expected to remain at level 4 for seven days, while the rest of New Zealand will be at the same level for three days.
