Sportech has announced that Rich Roberts has resigned as president digital USA and from the company’s board.

The move comes after a reorganisation of management responsibilities in the firm’s North American activities, following the withdrawal from its ‘Draft Day’ daily fantasy sports business obligations.

Roberts will remain with the company until the end of August in order to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.

Andrew Gaughan will continue to oversee Sportech Racing and Digital, while Ted Taylor, director of Sportech Venues in Connecticut, US, will take on responsibility for the online business in the US state.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Sportech and am proud of the success we have had during that period with some key digital initiatives,” Roberts said.

Ian Penrose, chief executive of Sportech, added: “Rich has been an important member of the executive team, most notably during our successful digital activities in New Jersey last year.

“I would like to personally thank him for his contribution to the company, and we wish him well for the future.”
