Live dealer gaming specialist Evolution Gaming has announced an extension of its relationship with Rush Street Interactive (RSI), through the launch of its First Person product range for the operator's Colombia-facing brand RushBet.co.

Customers will gain access to First Person Roulette, Lightning Roulette, Blackjack, Dream Catcher, Baccarat and Mega Ball — all Random Number Generator versions of Evolution's live dealer games, which allow customers to experience the games virtually from a first-person perspective, as they would in a land-based environment.

The new additions will be rolled out gradually over the coming weeks for RushBet customers on desktop, tablet and smartphone.

It builds on a relationship between the businesses dating back to 2018, when Rush Street launched Evolution live dealer content in the New Jersey market.

“RSI partnered with Evolution Gaming because we wanted to offer our RushBet.co players in Colombia a premier live casino mobile playing experience,” Rush Street Interactive president Richard Schwartz said. “The breadth, variety and innovation of the Evolution games portfolio, and the Evolution services and operational excellence that surround it, give us full scope to achieve that objective.”

Sebastian Johannisson, chief commercial officer at Evolution Gaming, added: “We are delighted to be growing our relationship with Rush Street Interactive, who are at the leading edge of gaming industry convergence, constantly innovating and pushing boundaries. Evolution shares the same ethos, and we look forward very much to building on the successes we have achieved together to date.”

Colombia legalised live dealer games in April this year, and regulations were brought forward by regulator Coljuegos in May.

The tax revenue from gaming in Colombia contributes towards the country’s healthcare system, and the government is therefore keen to reduce the impact of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on the local gaming industry. The legalisation and regulation of live dealer casino games was followed by the authorisation of scratchcards and video-bingo in June, in an attempt to diversify the market and shore up revenue.

Evolution Gaming this week made a bid of over SEK19.6bn for slots giant NetEnt in an attempt to strengthen their position in the US market. According to the company’s interim financial report for the first quarter of 2020, operating revenue was up 45% year-on-year, with EBIDTA increasing by 79%.
