Under the arrangement, the football club will share information about GamStop across its social channels and donate advertising collateral at its Selhurst Park home stadium to the scheme.

GamStop will also work with the club to provide free training and advice about it service within the team’s local community.

In 2018, Crystal Palace also became the first club in the Premier League to start working with the GambleAware charity.

“Whilst most people who gamble on football do so to enhance their enjoyment of the sport, GamStop gives anyone experiencing problems with their gambling a chance to regain control,” Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish said.

GamStop chief executive Fiona Palmer added: “The pandemic has led to increased sign-ups and we are trying to ensure that anybody who is struggling with their gambling, or has a loved one experiencing problems, knows where they can access support.

“The support of Crystal Palace will help us extend our reach and we hope that other Premier League and women’s clubs will follow their example.”

Crystal Palace currently has Asia-facing operator W88 as its main shirt sponsor, under a deal that is due to run until the end of the 2020-21 season.
