William Hill now controls all sportsbook operations at Golden Entertainment properties in Nevada after expanding its partnership with the land-based casino giant.

The partnership covers race and sportsbook operations at Arizona Charlie's Decatur and Arizona Charlie's Boulder in Las Vegas, the Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin, and a new facility at The STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod.

This new state-of-the-art race and sportsbook at the venue formerly known as The Stratosphere is to open in March. Golden Entertainment acquired the casino’s operating company American Casino & Entertainment Properties in a $850m deal in October 2017.

This provides bettors with access to William Hill’s sports betting technology, including its mobile wagering app and live in-play betting menu. The Nevada Gaming Commission approved the expanded partnership in January this year.

“We are excited to continue expanding our relationship with William Hill, which has a proven sports wagering platform not only in Nevada but around the world,” Golden Entertainment chief operating officer Steve Arcana said. “We look forward to growing our business in Nevada and other jurisdictions through this partnership.”

William Hill US chief executive Joe Asher described the deal as an “exciting new chapter” in the operator’s relationship with Golden Entertainment.

“We look forward to working together to offer sports fans an amazing experience for many years to come in Nevada and elsewhere as opportunities arise,” he said.

The partnership was first established in October 2018, with William Hill already operating race and sportsbooks at the Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Gambling Hall, Gold Town Casino and Lakeside Casino & RV Park, both also located in Pahrump. At the time, it was expected that William Hill would take control of all Golden Entertainment Nevada properties by the end of the year.

William Hill also manages depositing kiosks at around 80 Golden Entertainment-owned taverns and third-party-distributed gaming locations across the state. William Hill also operates the race and sportsbooks at the Edgewater and Colorado Belle casinos in Laughlin, which were acquired by Golden Entertainment from Marnell Gaming in January this year.

The London-listed operator will also pursue sports betting opportunities Montana and Maryland with Golden Entertainment, where regulation permits. Golden Entertainment operates distributed gaming across 300 locations in Montana, and owns the Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Maryland, where efforts to regulate wagering are underway.
