Russian bookmaker Leon has become the fifth operator to secure approval to launch an online gambling website in the country.

Leon.ru site will operate under Federal Tax Service Licence #20, which had been issued to Euromir, Leon’s previous corporate identity.

The bookmaker already operates over 300 retail betting points of sale across the country.

Leon is the first brand of Bookmakers Self-Regulatory Organisation (SRO) to gain government consent to begin offering online betting in Russia.

Other approved operators, Liga Stavok, 888.ru, Winline and 1xStavka (1xBet), all of which are already active in the country, belong to the First SRO of Russian Bookmakers.
