Media firm News Corp Australia has agreed a deal to acquire Punters.com.au, a major digital racing publisher in the country.

Punters is a client of Corum Group International, a global advisory firm for sellers of technology companies, and offers a range of racing services to punters.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Michael Miller, executive chairman of News Corp Australasia, said the deal “deepens” the company's commitment to racing.

“The acquisition of Punters.com.au deepens News Corp’s commitment to racing and provides our 16 million monthly audience with an even more complete and integrated online and traditional media fan experience,” Miller said.

Luc Pettett, chief executive of Punters, added: “We’re very excited that News Corp will bring long-term security and further investment into the platform and continue to develop our vision.

“And we are grateful to Corum for ensuring we came together with the right partner who shares our vision of the growth of our business and the industry.”
