The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has officially approved a strategic partnership with gambling event giants Clarion Gaming and SiGMA, confirming plans for a major event in the country's capital Manila next year, including the inaugural edition of ICE Asia.

The event, which will unite ICE and SiGMA Manila under the ICE Asia banner, will take place from 8-9 June at the SMX Convention Centre (pictured) and the adjacent Conrad Hotel, focusing on both the gaming and blockchain markets.

The new B2B event will cater for the land-based and online gaming sectors, and is being launched through a partnership between SiGMA and Clarion Gaming that was announced in August 2019. It aims to bring together suppliers, operators, affiliates, regulators and blockchain businesses together at a single location.

SiGMA Group said 10,000 delegates from Europe, the US, and Asia are expected to attend the inaugural event.

“We are positive that our collaboration will encourage regional and international investment in the Philippines, and punctuate the presence of PAGCOR in the international gaming map,” a PAGCOR spokesperson said.

Kate Chambers, managing director of Clarion Gaming, said all stakeholders were focused on making the event a huge success that could satisfy the business needs of the Asian gambling industry.

“Business development is driven by productive partnerships such as the one that we have in place with PAGCOR,” Chambers explained. “I am extremely grateful for PAGCOR’s support and look forward to establishing a long and productive relationship.”

SiGMA Group founder and chief executive Eman Pulis added: “There is strength in unity, and through this joining of forces we hope to capitalise on the strong interest in Asia for iGaming and emerging technology.

“South-East Asia, especially Manila, has a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit, and there is growing value there, not just for companies seeking fresh opportunities in new jurisdictions but for the economic future of the region.”
