Betting services supplier SIS has appointed Mike Jones as its first director of software engineering.

Jones, who most recently worked as a senior project manager at Sony PlayStation, will be responsible for driving transformation in the way SIS produces software to underpin its product offering.

Jones’ career in software development spans more than 30 years, including experience with major brands such as London Underground, Barclays, Logica, ABB and Alstom.

SIS chief executive Gary Smith said: “Mike’s wealth of experience within software will be invaluable at an exciting time for the company when SIS is rolling out a number of innovative products to both the retail and online betting markets.”

Jones initially joined SIS on an interim basis in February, and is keen to further develop some of the company’s major software projects.

Jones said: “I’m delighted to be joining such a forward-thinking, truly innovative company that boasts a rich heritage in the industry.

“I’ve had the good fortune to have sight of the innovative range of SIS products and services that are soon to be released and I can’t wait to help them be the best they can be.”
