Bet365 adds 100 new tech jobs in Manchester
Bet365 is continuing its recruitment drive after announcing more than 100 new jobs in Manchester as part of a link-up with the city’s university.
The gambling operator will add to its existing 200 members of staff in the city as it takes over further office space at the Zenith Building (pictured). The company initially set up in Manchester in 2016, employing software developers and testers to support its main technology hub at its Stoke-on-Trent headquarters.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, the company said the new positions will be infrastructure roles and graduates from the University of Manchester.
“This is no longer a small gathering of developers but a software development function that has matured and seen every team grow significantly with developers, testers, analysts and project managers now present,” Warren Hughes, head of systems development for Bet365, said.
“As we continue to expand and look to open our fifth floor in Spring Gardens, we aim to keep the bar high and bring in people that are passionate about technology and delivery.”
Meanwhile, platform provider FSB has described its switch to new headquarters in Shoreditch from next week as “a hugely salient step in [its] evolution and ambitions”.
The Scrutton Street site, located in east London’s ‘tech dev’ community, will be home to more than 100 FSB staff. The company said the 8,000 sq ft offices will showcase its operational offerings and online trading tools, while a new product-development floor will also feature a fully-functioning betting shop.
FSB’s business development director, Richard Thorp, said: “Shoreditch is a rich environment for tech talent, which makes it a natural habitat for FSB’s industry-leading expertise.
“Milestone digital innovation and differentiation sets us apart from out rivals, so these offices provide the resources and ideal setting in which to keep our portfolio at the cutting edge.”
