Kambi expands US sports portfolio with Parx Casino owner
Kambi Group is to expand its sports wagering services into Pennsylvania after agreeing a multi-year deal with local operator Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment.
Kambi is to provide Greenwood with its sports betting platform to power an offering for its Parx Casino property, the state’s largest land-based casino, as well as a range of managed services and land-based sports betting technology.
“Greenwood Gaming represents yet another exciting partnership for Kambi, as we continue to establish ourselves as the premier choice for operators looking to enter the US sports wagering market with a quality product and trusted partner,” the supplier’s chief executive Kristian Nylén said.
“Greenwood Gaming is committed to delivering exciting gaming experiences to players in a safe and responsible fashion, therefore, when deciding to launch a sportsbook, Kambi quickly became the natural choice and I'm confident we will form a successful partnership.”
Pennsylvania is yet to launch regulated sports betting but it has started to issue licences to casinos, with Parx among the first recipients last month. The state hopes to launch legalised betting before the end of the year.
Parx expects to launch its on-property sportsbook before the end of 2018. An online sportsbook will also go live soon after, following the integration of the Kambi platform into the Parx player account management system, provided by GAN under a separate agreement.
The deal will also see Kambi provide its services to the Greenwood Gaming-owned South Philadelphia Turf Club. The venue is located in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, the home of NFL franchise the Philadelphia Eagles.
Greenwood has filed for a licence from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to offer betting services at the off-track facility.
In addition, with an eye on other markets, the contract includes a provision for Kambi to support Greenwood should it roll out sports betting in the neighbouring state of New Jersey.
“We are excited to be working with an experienced, successful sportsbook partner that can bring best-in-class systems and odds making to the Parx-branded sports betting products,” Greenwood chief technology officer John Dixon said.
“We are confident in their systems to provide timely, secure and accurate wagering opportunities across many sports both pre-game and in-game.”
