SBTech goes live in New Jersey and Mississippi
SBTech has become the latest company to confirm its official entrance into the US sports betting market by rolling out various land-based technologies with clients across New Jersey and Mississippi.
In recent months, SBTech has been working to secure partnerships in anticipation of securing approval in the two states, brokering deals with Churchill Downs, Golden Nugget and Resorts Casino.
SBTech has since obtained a licence in Mississippi – as was first reported by iGamingBusiness.com – and a transactional waiver in New Jersey, enabling it to launch its services, including the first self-service betting kiosks in both New Jersey and Mississippi.
The Churchill Downs agreement covers the BetAmerica brand at Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa and Riverwalk Casino Hotel in Mississippi. The deal will also extend to Pennsylvania when the state launches legalised sports betting.
SBTech sportsbooks are also now live in New Jersey with Golden Nugget and Resorts Casino, as per previously announced agreements with both companies.
As part of each agreement, the three companies will be able to offer unique and differentiated pricing for US sport events, as well as tailored trading strategies, non-pooled risk management and advanced automation.
SBTech chief executive Richard Carter said: “I’m delighted to have witnessed the successful launches of our partners in New Jersey and Mississippi in such a short space of time.
“We deployed with our people on the ground to work closely with our partners and the regulators. We are fully focused on working with our partners to build the best product for the US market and support their growth.”
SBTech has been preparing for regulated sports betting in the US for some time and in January agreed a deal with GAN to serve real-money sports betting to casino operator clients in the US. This came ahead of the Supreme Court ruling on PASPA in May.
