Tabcorp reveals ongoing growth as revenue rises in Q3
Tabcorp has announced that it was able to follow up on year-on-year financial growth in the first half of the year by achieving further success during the third quarter.
Group revenue in the three-month period amounted to Aus$518.4 million (€340 million/US$393.3 million), up 1.8% on the total posted in the same quarter last year.
Revenue generated by wagering and media increased by 0.5% year-on-year to Aus$442.8 million, while keno was up 10.9% to Aus$26.9 million, with gaming services also jumping 11.2% to Aus$5158.4 million.
Tabcorp highlighted significant growth within its digital business, with turnover from this division up 15.2% year-on-year to Aus$1.6 billion, although its retail and call centre distribution arms saw revenue fall 2.4% and 6%, respectively.
David Attenborough, chief executive of Tabcorp, said: ““Tabcorp continued to drive revenue growth in the third quarter, with pleasing levels of customer engagement across the group.
“Wagering turnover grew more than 3%, although the revenue performance was impacted by favourable results for customers.
“We were also encouraged with the continued positive trading momentum in Keno.
“Our Victorian business had a very strong quarter, with the benefits of jackpot pooling with NSW evident.
“Gaming services continues to grow, with the opening of new venues in NSW in late 2015 coming through in the revenue performance this quarter.”
