New Jersey posts full-year online gaming growth after record December

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) has revealed that the US state’s online gaming market was able to post year-on-year revenue growth in 2015, after setting a new monthly record in December.

Full-year online gaming revenue for the 12 months to the end of December came in at $148.8 million (€137 million), up 21% on the amount posted at the end of 2014.

Online casino revenue was up by a third to $125 million, but internet poker was down by 18% year-on-year to $23.8 million.

Confirmation of the full-year results comes as the NJDGE also announced record monthly revenue for the second consecutive month.

In December, the NJDGE reported revenue of $14 million, an increase of 6% on the previous record of $13.2 million set in November and 30.8% up on the same month last year.

Online casino revenue in the month hiked 39% year-on-year to $12 million, but, similar to the full-year results, internet poker revenue fell by 3.6% to just under $2 million for the month.
