ATG Casino to expand offering with bingo

| By
ATG Casino, the online casino brand operated by former Swedish horse racing monopoly operator, AB Trav och Galopp, will add bingo to its online offering.

“We are launching bingo to broaden our range and to be able to offer our customers a soft and social product where you can turn for both an exciting and relaxing moment,” ATG head of casino Maria Allmér explained.

The launch includes classic 75- and 90-ball bingo games, as well as the faster-paced Bingo Blast, and will include several chances for extra-large jackpot wins.

The casino will operate several bingo rooms at the same time, with some open 24/7 and others operating under more limited opening hours.

The games will be adapted for mobile as a large portion of ATG’s customers play in this format.

ATG announced in August that the international shutdown of professional sports benefitted its core horse racing business in the first half of 2020, with revenue for the six months to 30 June increasing 33.2% year-on-year to SEK3.06bn (£265.3m/€295.5m/$348.2m). Of this, gaming revenue accounted for SEK2.54bn.

The contribution from betting on horse racing grew 19.0% to SEK2.18bn, while online casino revenue grew 50.0% year-on-year to SEK207m.

Gross gaming revenue (GGR) for Sweden as a whole, however, saw a decline of 4.1% to SEK5.94bn in Q2 2020, as a 3.6% increase in online gambling revenue was not enough to offset the effects of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) on the land-based sector.

The total was the lowest recorded for a quarter since the Swedish online gambling market opened on 1 January 2019.
