Sportradar betting brand describes its latest virtual football and tennis launches
Betradar unveiled its newest products, a World Cup game and virtual in-play tennis, at this year’s ICE Totally Gaming 2018. The football product follows Betradar’s successful virtual European Championship Cup game for Euro 2016.
Managing director Heinz Kierchhoff said: “Customers loved it because they put it on before the real cup started and the punters loved it, they could test their luck before the real thing happened”.
The Betradar virtual World Cup reflects the group stage of the real World Cup and continues every hour with a new tournament. The virtual in-play tennis product is based similarly on live sports, showing a full, real-time tennis match, with the kinds of prizes you would expect to see in real life.
“With in-play we have a whole bunch of additional prizes that we can offer. Like in real tennis, about 80% of betting happens on in-play,” Kierchhoff explained.
“We started with the pre-match, now we have in-play tennis, which we feel is a guarantee of success because it reflects exactly how the punters behave in reality.”
Tennis is the most popular in-play sport in the world – an assertion that was tested by Betradar’s own research before launching the game. Having launched the tennis product, the Sportsradar subsidiary is now looking at cricket and baseball as potential future launches.
Kierchhoff said the company’s two main priorities in developing new products are “realism” – the graphics –and the game mechanics.
“A punter that bets on real football expects the same odds, the same prices, for the virtual product. And this we guarantee with close to real teams and close to real presentation of the markets,” he explained.
