Genius Sports’ Betgenius subsidiary will supply the Caliente.mx brand with its LiveData, LiveTrading and Streaming services, leveraging official sports data and video feeds from more than 400 competitions.

The deal means Caliente’s live betting product will be powered by Genius’ real-time data and pricing for over 170,000 fixtures annually, complemented by over 20,000 live stream matches and games.

The data will include some of the most popular betting leagues in Mexico and Latin America, such as Mexico’s LigaMX, the English Premier League and Italy’s Serie A, as well as Argentine football and the Mexican Baseball League.

Caliente Interactive’s chief executive, Emilio Hank, said: “As the market leader in Mexico, we are always focused on providing our customers with the best possible product. We are excited to keep growing our content offering and to extend our long-term partnership with Genius Sports, as we continue to expand into other markets.”

Genius Sports Group’s head of commercial for Latin America, Fernando Martinez, added: “As an established and ambitious operator, Grupo Caliente sees the long-term value of a partnership with Genius Sports and our global official sports content, for the benefit of its players and future profitability.”

“With in-game betting in Mexico rapidly rising, expanding its content will ensure they can stay ahead of the game.”

Genius Sports Group announced yesterday that it would form a new holding company, Galileo NewCo, for its proposed business combination with dMY Technology Group II, in a deal that will see the data supplier go public with a $1.5bn valuation.

The supplier’s plan to go public was announced in October, and the merger with dMY II is expected to be finalised in the first quarter of 2021.
