Digital Isle of Man hands top esports role to Kissack

Digital Isle of Man, an executive agency created by the island’s government to support development in the digital sector, has appointed Chris Kissack to the newly created role as head of esports.

Digital Isle of Man, an executive agency created by the island’s government to support development in the digital sector, has appointed Chris Kissack to the newly created role as head of esports.

Due to begin his new position on August 3, Kissack will work towards launching the agency’s own esports proposition in the near future.

Kissack will join from his position as esports specialist at Amber Gaming, where his responsibilities included managing tournament prize pool distribution and protecting esports players’ benefits.

“I’m looking forward to continuing my work in raising the Island’s profile within the esports space,” Kissack said. “I am eager to join the agency and partner with local businesses and institutions to deliver the Isle of Man's esports strategy, embrace this thriving industry and help grow the sector for the benefit of the Island.”

Digital Isle of Man chief executive Lyle Wraxall added: “I am very pleased to welcome Chris to our team; it was vital that we found the right candidate to drive forward this new and exciting venture for the Island.

“Chris’s experience in the sector, expert knowledge, and enthusiasm for Isle of Man's esports proposition made him a perfect fit for the role.”

Digital Isle of Man’s remit includes online gaming, esports, Fintech, blockchain, internet of things (IoT), technology, payments, media and film.
