William Hill and Inspired Gaming Group have launched the first virtual racing land-based betting service in the US.

The new offering has gone live at two of William Hill’s race and sportsbooks in the state of Nevada.

Customers that visit the facilities inside the Plaza Hotel and Casino and Silver Sevens Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas will be able to place bets on virtual racing alongside live sports.

Subject to a successful trial, the deployment will expand to all casino sportsbook venues run by William Hill in the state during the next 12 months.

“Our virtual horse racing product represents 18% of horse racing revenue in the UK and we are hopeful that we can repeat or even outperform that figure in the US,” Inspired’s chief commercial officer digital games Steve Rogers said.

Joe Asher, chief executive of William Hill US, added: “The addition of Virtual Racing is just another example of how William Hill prides itself on offering the largest and most innovative betting menu.”
