IGT installs new management system at South Africa’s Carousel Casino

| By Robert Fletcher
International Game Technology has installed its Advantage casino management system (CMS) at the Carousel Casino in North West Province, South Africa.

The CMS includes products such as machine accounting, patron management, cage and table accounting, and table manager, as well as a range of marketing products such as Carded Lucky Coin and M5 for content creation.

Carousel Casino will also benefit from IGT Advantage Resort Wallet, a carded cashless module that gives players the option to move funds from game to game using their club card.

Integration with Carousel’s patron management and point-of-sale systems means players can also access their gaming balances, players club rewards, and property services and amenities.

The launch with Carousel Casino represents the first roll-out of IGT Advantage Resort Wallet in South Africa.

Operated by Lakama Resorts and Casino, Carousel Casino recently reopened its doors after being forced to close since March due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

“We selected the IGT Advantage CMS for the Carousel re-launch due to its proven stability, user-friendly configuration, and ability to automate more parts of the business, which frees our staff to focus on delivering a superior gaming experience to patrons,” Lakama Resorts and Casino chairman Mario Morfou said.

“In addition, IGT’s on-the-ground support team implemented the new system flawlessly within a compressed timeframe, reinforcing IGT;s status as a leader in systems service and customer support.”

IGT’s vice president of sales and operations for EMEA, Mark MacCombie, added: “Carousel can now benefit from IGT’s proven solution to maximise floor performance, generate incremental revenue, simplify operations, and increase player loyalty.”

Meanwhile, IGT Global Solutions Corporation, a subsidiary of IGT, has signed a one-year extension to its deal with the District of Columbia Office of Lottery and Gaming.

Under the agreement, which incudes the option for the Lottery to exercise three additional one-year extension options, IGT will continue to provide instant ticket games and related services until December 2021.

IGT has been a print vendor for the DC Lottery since 2014.

“The DC Lottery, with guidance and expertise from IGT, continuously looks at ways to bring new, compelling instant ticket products to our players,” DC Lottery executive director Beth Bresnahan said.

“The DC Lottery looks forward to continuing to deliver high-quality lottery games from IGT today, and in the future.”

IGT chief operating officer of lottery, Jay Gendron, added: “IGT has worked closely with the DC Lottery over the last six years to deliver games that engage and attract new players while delivering outstanding player experiences.

“IGT is pleased to continue working with the DC Lottery, and we look forward to helping the Lottery reach its sales goals by enhancing its instant ticket portfolio with compelling new content.”
