Star Sydney to welcome more customers as NSW Covid-19 measures eased
Existing measures in the Greater Sydney region meant the casino was subject to a rule whereby it could only have up to 300 customers inside the casino at one time.
From tomorrow (29 January), the casino will be able to host up to 5,000 patrons at any one time across its total casino area – similar to the operating restrictions it faced between 1-23 July last year.
The facility will still be subject to the one person per four square meters rule, while customers will also need to continue wearing face masks inside gaming rooms.
However, if the drop in the number of community transmission cases continues over the next two weeks, the New South Wales government could further relax capacity rules to one person every two square metres.
Should this be the case, the casino would be permitted to operate under similar conditions applicable at the property from 7-20 December.
The latest figures released by the New South Wales government show that in the most recent 24-hour period to 27 January, the region recorded just three new cases of Covid-19, all of which were identified in people from overseas.
