Novomatic has revealed that it was able to achieve record-high turnover during fiscal 2015, with the firm also increasing its workforce by an additional 1,900 employees.

Full-year revenue totalled €2.1 billion ($2.4 billion), an increase of 5.5% on the previous year and the highest ever amount recorded by the company.

Novomatic cited a 7.9% year-on-year increase in proceeds from its gaming technology rentals arm as one of the main reasons behind the growth, with this area of the business generating €594.7 million in revenue.

The company was also able to increase its workforce by 10.4% to 20,188 staff members.

However, despite these increases, the firm did note a drop in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, which came in at €616.7 million, compared to €647.4 million in the previous 12 months.

Harald Neumann , chief executive of Novomatic, said: “This annual result is proof of the successful implementation of our strategy to cover all the segments of the international gaming industry as a full-service supplier and to further extend our market share in key European gaming markets such as Spain, UK and Italy.

“In Spain, Novomatic has developed a strong presence based on its successful duality strategy with the takeover of the third-largest manufacturer GiGames and the acquisition of several arcade operations.

“In the UK, Playnation, a renowned operator in the amusement segment operating some 20,000 amusement machines in over 1,700 locations was acquired.”
