Philadelphia casino in landmark online gaming launch
SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has become the 20th casino to gain approval from New Jersey regulators to launch an online gambling service.
The land-based site, which is regarded as one of the main rivals to those active in the gambling haven of Atlantic City, will now offer online gaming to those based in New Jersey.
Rush Street Interactive, an affiliate of Rush Street Gaming, will operate the new PlaySugarHouse.com site under Golden Nugget Atlantic City’s internet gambling permit.
Pennsylvania is yet to legalise or regulate online gaming.
According to the Press of Atlantic City newspaper, the site will offer over 200 games, such as ‘Super Monopoly Money’, ‘Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin’ and ‘Quick Hit Platinum’, with iOS and Android mobile applications also on offer to customers.
Greg Carlin, chief executive of Rush Street Gaming, said: “We are excited to broaden the SugarHouse reach to new players in New Jersey and give players more choice about how they want to enjoy their casino gaming experience.”
