Playtech enters Portugal with Solverde Group
iGaming solutions giant Playtech has expanded into Portugal’s regulated online gaming market after signing a long-term partnership with local casino operator Solverde Group.
Under the agreement, Playtech will provide its IMS player management platform to CasinoSolverde.pt, the online casino site operated by Solverde.
CasinoSolverde.pt will use IMS as its core platform, allowing it to launch a suite of tailored Playtech games. The operator will also benefit from data-driven tools and capabilities that feature on the platform.
Launched in 2017, CasinoSolverde.pt is the newest casino in the Solverde Group portfolio, which also includes five land-based casinos and four hotels in Portugal.
“This is an exciting moment for CasinoSolverde.pt as we further develop the casino experience we offer to our customers,” Solverde board member, Manuel Silva Carvalho, said.
“We are pleased to partner with Playtech to bring its industry leading casino offering to the Portuguese audience and are confident it will be a driver of growth for both our businesses in Portugal.”
Shimon Akad, chief operating officer of Playtech, added: “We are pleased to see Playtech’s technology continuing to serve as the infrastructure of choice in competitive and complex regulated markets.
“This deal highlights the continued strength of our data driven platform to offer integrated solutions to operators and we hope to announce further successes in regulated markets soon.”
The agreement comes after national regulator Serviço Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos do Turismo de Portugal this week revealed that the country’s iGaming market set a new revenue record in the second quarter.
Licenced operators generated a collective total of €48.3m (£44.1m/$53.5m) in the three months to June 30, surpassing the previous quarterly record of €47.3m that was set in the opening quarter of the current year.
