Spanish online gambling markets expands in Q3
Spanish regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego has revealed that the country’s online gambling market experienced significant growth during the three months to September 30.
Revenue from online gaming in the country amounted to €103 million ($112.6 million) during the third quarter, 22.2% more than the corresponding period last year and up on the €98.8 million posted in the second quarter of this year.
Revenue from online casino operations increased 56.7% year-on-year to €28.4 million, with slot games coming in at €13.8 million and roulette at €10.6 million.
Sports betting was the main source of online revenue in the quarter, generating a total of €56.8 million, up by 15% on last year.
However, online poker in Spain continued to suffer with revenue down 4.3% year-on-year to €13.8 million.
