The week’s esports fixtures: 28 May to 3 June
iGB, in partnership with Bayes Esports Solutions, is proud to present a regular list of fixtures for some of the most popular esports competitions, helping operators looking to expand into the esports market while the traditional sports calendar has been significantly reduced.
While the round-up has tended to focus on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), Dota 2 and League of Legends, this week we offer an expanded view, covering more of the titles included in Bayes’ Esports Directory. These include Hearthstone, Rainbow Six and Starcraft 2.
Topping this week’s list in terms of fixtures is the ESL One Birmingham 2020 Dota event, with 54 fixtures. This comes days after the Nevada Gaming Control Board cleared the state’s sportsbook licensees to take bets on the tournament.
Next, with 42 fixtures, is the Grandmasters Season 1 event for Hearthstone, a digital card game created by Blizzard Entertainment. This runs until 7 June, with a $500,000 prize pool on offer.
A CS:GO tournament, China’s Huya Darkhorse League Season 1, follows with 22 fixtures. For League of Legends, the Mid-Season Cup has 12 fixtures being played, in an event that runs to 31 May, replacing the 2020 Mid-Season Invitiational, an in-person event postponed as a result of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
