Šimon Vincze joins IGCCB board of directors
His appointment to the IGCCB board of directors is a strategic move that aligns with the growing need for innovative, evidence-based approaches to problem gambling.
IGCCB is dedicated to addressing the challenges in problem gambling and responsible gambling by providing certification to professionals in the field of gambling addiction counseling. The organisation aims to enhance care standards and establish robust competencies and ethical practices for counselors and professionals.
Vincze joins the new position owing to his long-standing track record as a strong advocate for responsible gambling, an effort which he has promoted and developed as part of the Casino Guru project, which includes the Global Self-Exclusion Initiative and Casino Guru Academy.
Commenting on this opportunity, the prominent responsible gambling advocate added: “I feel privileged to have become one of the board members of IGCCB at a time of transformation in gambling and gaming disorder treatment. The organisation’s goal of increasing counselling standards around the world fits perfectly with Casino Guru’s principles of influencing positive change. I will do what I can to increase the impact of IGCCB activities through my network and projects.”
As head of the Casino Guru’s social responsibility projects, Vincze has dedicated significant efforts to realising his vision for what a safer gambling industry ought to look like. Overall, the Global Self-Exclusion Initiative seeks to create a more coherent approach to self-exclusion that takes proactive approach from operators and ultimately benefits consumers in a player-centric manner.
IGCCB believes that training a cadre of skilled counselors will not only improve self-exclusion strategies but also address more complex issues related to gambling addiction and recovery. Vincze’s appointment underscores his dedication to advancing the industry’s efforts to make gambling safer and more sustainable, empowering players to manage their gambling habits effectively.
