Raketech has continued its M&A spree after acquiring a majority stake in affiliate media company Shogun Media.
The purchase is a third acquisition since the start of 2018, and 12th since the start of 2017 for the online affiliate and content marketing company.
Raketech described the deal as a “strategic acquisition” ahead of regulatory changes in Sweden next year, and added that it will benefit by adding the expertise of Shogun founder Fredrik Johansson.
Raketech said the Shogun team will continue developing its product offering for gaming operators in both new and existing markets, “achieving organic growth and meeting the company’s ambitious targets”.
Michael Holmberg, Raketech chief executive, said: “With the acquisition of Shogun Media, we gain more experienced entrepreneurs and this is vital for our growth journey.
“Not only do we obtain a good synergy for how we build services in new markets, we also gain valuable and supplemental expertise within pay-per-click.
“This is an important building block to further strengthen Raketech ahead of Swedish regulation, where we are well-positioned both in terms of our partners and revenues for when it comes into force in 2019.”
Last year, Raketech established a new operational model where M&A forms one of three strategic growth pillars.
Shogun’s Johansson said: “We are looking forward to becoming part of the Raketech family and working together to deliver the best sports and gaming services to users and iGaming operators in a global market.
“There is a great fit between the companies in the form of complementing expertise, synergies in business systems and business model scalability.”
