Novomatic surpasses €2.5bn in annual sales
Novomatic AG achieved yearly sales of €2.5bn ($3.02bn) for the first time in its history during 2017.
The company’s ‘Gaming Operations’ segment posted revenues of €1.59bn last year, which is up from €1.33bn in 2016 and equal to 63% of total revenue.
However, sales within the gaming business dropped slightly from €947m in 2016 to €937m in the past year.
Operational cash flow at Novomatic reached €419m in 2017, down from €429m in the previous year, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation grew slightly to €587m.
Staff numbers at the company jumped from 23,849 to 25,536 in the past year.
Harald Neumann, chief executive of Novomatic, said: “Spain was a growth driver, with an increase in sales of over 50%, but other core markets, such as CEE, Italy and Great Britain also performed well in 2017.”
Looking ahead to the current year, Neumann added: “After rapid growth over the last few years, in particular through the acquisition of companies, the time has come to optimise internal processes and structures on an international level.
“It’s the best way to prepare for the future.”
