Bet365 has been dealt a blow after losing a legal bid to suspend a decision by the Romanian National Office for Gambling to revoke its online gambling licence in the country.

In October, the online operator was added to the country’s blacklist and had its licence cancelled.

With the reasons behind the move not disclosed by the regulator, Bet365 later declared its intention to launch a legal challenge over the decision, branding the suspension as “legally unjustified”.

However, local media reports in Romania yesterday (Thursday) state that the Bucharest Court of Appeal has denied the operator’s request for a temporary suspension of the October decision.

Bet365 is widely expected to appeal this ruling.
