Malta regulator suspends BTM Entertainment licence

BTM Entertainment Group, the gambling operator behind the Roy Richie casino brand, has been ordered to shut down operations after having its licence suspended by the Maltese gambling regulator.

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has said BTM Entertainment can no longer register new players or accept any deposits under the terms of the suspension, which came into effect yesterday (January 31).

The suspension applies to all sites operated by BTM Entertainment including its flagship Roy Richie brand, which offers sports betting and casino gaming services, while the MGA investigates the business.

BTM Entertainment, which is based in Malta, must also submit all data and documentation requested by the regulator as part of its review.

The MGA said it will not release any further information at this stage so as not to compromise any investigations carried out by the regulator or other relevant authorities.

Customers who have any outstanding payments due from BTM Entertainment can contact the MGA for information on how they can access their funds.

Players are requested to send their full name, address, date of birth, telephone number, a copy of their passport or ID Card, BTM Entertainment username, a description of the product in question and a screenshot of their balance or cash-out option to the MGA.

Last month, Bet Service Group, the gambling operator behind the Gamebet brand, also had its gaming licence suspended by the MGA.
