Malta regulator suspends Star World Limited
The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has moved to suspend the remote gaming licence of Star World Limited.
Although the national regulatory body did not disclose the reasons behind the move, it did confirm that the suspension came into effect on July 31.
The MGA said that Star World Limited must suspend all gaming operations and transactions on all of its websites, including deposits and withdrawals, as well as cease to register new players and submit all data and documentation requested by the regulator.
In a statement on its website, the MGA added: “Due to the suspension of the licence, Star World Limited is therefore not authorised to continue conducting gaming by means of distance communications under an Authority licence.
“The Authority notifies that no further information shall be released at this stage in order not to compromise any investigations that may need to be performed by the Authority and/or any other competent authority.”
Players that have outstanding payments due to them from Star World Limited are advised to contact the MGA.
