Belgian National Lottery partners IWG to drive online growth
The Belgian National Lottery (Loterie Nationale) has joined forces with instant win games provider IWG to enhance its online gambling offering and drive the next stage of its digital growth strategy.
IWG, which signed a three-year contract with the lottery, will integrate its Progressive Play remote game server (RGS) into the existing IGT lottery platform in Belgium. This will allow the Lottery to select new games from IWG’s portfolio of over 100 titles.
In addition, IWG will provide strategic and marketing support to the lottery throughout the course of the agreement.
“Partnering with IWG is an important step for us as we ramp up our efforts to further evolve our games offering,” Loterie Nationale’s strategy and change management, Kevin Van Belle, said.
“We’re confident in IWG’s expertise in delivering quality and reliable instant win games and excited about the prospect of innovating together in the coming years.”
In May 2014, GTECH signed a 10-year online gaming, systems, terminals and integration contract to provide end-to-end services for the lottery. IGT then acquired GTECH in April 2015, taking ownership of the contract in the process.
IWG has an existing relationship with IGT, having worked together to provide games to Norsk Tipping in Norway and Lotto New Zealand, while two further launches are planned in the US before the end of the year.
Rhydian Fisher, chief executive of IWG, added: “The lottery’s plans to innovate, entertain and grow online are amongst the most inspiring we’ve seen, so we’re very much looking forward to the partnership.
“Winning an opportunity like this through an open and competitive RFP process is a source of great pride for the whole company. With our partners at IGT, we’ll work tirelessly to help Loterie Nationale attract new players, entertain existing players and ultimately generate funds for good causes in Belgium.”
