Online gambling operator 32Red has signed a two-year extension to its shirt sponsorship deal with Scottish Premiership football club Rangers.

Kindred Group-owned 32Red will remain as the principal club sponsor until the end of the 2020-21 campaign, meaning the brand will have appeared on the club's shirts for seven consecutive seasons.

32Red branding will continue to feature on the front of players’ jerseys, as well as on official club training wear and on advertising hoardings around the team’s Ibrox home stadium.

“32Red have been a loyal supporter and partner of the club since 2014 and we are pleased that their brand will continue to be on the front of our shirts,” Rangers’ managing director Stewart Robertson said.

Neil Banbury, general manager for the UK at Kindred, added: “32Red’s partnership with Rangers has been hugely beneficial for our business and we are thrilled to have extended that association once again.

“At 32Red, we are committed to reinventing the sports sponsorship model, so it benefits the whole community.”

The renewal follows Kenny Alexander, CEO of rival GVC Holdings, last week calling for an end to all sportsbook broadcast advertising in the UK in order to enhance responsible gambling efforts

The online gaming operator has already said that it will no longer pursue shirt sponsorship deals in sport, as well as committing to a ban on advertising in football stadiums, as part of its drive to tackle gambling related harm.
