Grand Casino Luzern launches online casino
Grand Casino Luzern has become the second casino in Switzerland to launch an igaming offering, under the MyCasino.ch brand.
The website launched today (22 August) after the country’s Federal Council (Bundesrat) on approved the casino’s application for an igaming licence on 7 June.
The online offering, which includes live casino and slots, is powered by Paf. The Åland Islands-based operator, which was unveiled as the casino’s technology partner in June, supported the development of the website by supplying the technical platform, games and operational support.
In an effort to generate interest in the new site, MyCasino.ch is entering all registered customers into a monthly raffle to win a trip to Las Vegas.
Grand Casino Baden was the first Swiss casino to roll out a licensed online service last month via the Jackpots.ch brand. Evolution Gaming was signed up to supply live casino gaming content to Jackpots.ch, while the website is supported by platform provider Gamanza.
A total of four venues, including Grand Casino Luzern and Grand Casino Baden, were granted online gaming licences by the Bundesrat in June, with Casino Davos and Casino Zürichsee having also secured authorisation to launch igaming products.
Some 73% of Swiss voters approved a proposal to regulate online gaming in a national referendum on the new Gambling Act in June 2018.
The legislation came into effect in January, with authorities starting to block unlicensed websites last month. However it is yet to announce which sites have been blacklisted in the market.
