Sportradar extends integrity deal with Germany’s DFL
The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL), the organisation that manages the German Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga club football competitions, has renewed its integrity partnership with Sportradar.
The deal will cover the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, extending a partnership that began in 2005.
Sportradar will continue to use its Fraud Detection System (FDS) to monitor matches for betting manipulation across the global market.
The agreement covers all Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches, as well as the relegation play-offs, the Supercup, and friendly games involving Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 teams in Germany and abroad.
In addition, Sportradar will work with the DFL to deliver training on the dangers of match-fixing to players and staff at Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs. This includes an e-learning tutorial that addresses gambling addiction.
The renewal comes after the German Football Association earlier this week also appointed Genius Sports to develop and launch a new integrity programme to help prevent match-fixing and betting-related corruption.
The deal will begin from the 2019-20 season, with Genius Sports to use its Bet Monitoring System to track betting activity for over 7,500 games each year of the agreement.
