Players in New York spent $2.15 billion betting on sports online during April, a year-on-year rise of 9.1%, while revenue in the Empire State also increased.

Spend surpassed the $1.97 billion wagered on sports in April of 2024, figures from the New York State Gaming Commission showed. However, the monthly total fell 12.2% short of the $2.45 billion bet in March this year.

As for revenue, this reached $192.7 million during April. Again, this was more than last year, by 4.7%, and was also 18.9% ahead of March despite a lower handle.

This meant that statewide hold for April stood at 8.95%. Meanwhile, tax payments for the month topped $98.3 million.
