Sportradar extends integrity partnership with AFF
Sportradar has renewed its integrity-focused partnership with the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF).
The extended agreement will cover the AFF’s flagship Suzuki Cup competition, with Sportradar to monitor more than 550 relevant betting operators around the world across all 18 matches of the 2016 tournament.
The company will deploy its Fraud Detection System to notify the AFF of any suspicious betting patterns during the event.
Sportradar experts will also lead briefings to referees, team managers and match officials on the integrity measures that will be in place at the tournament, as well as report information related to match-fixing and the potential consequences of fixing.
“As well as putting on a competitive and exciting competition for our fans across this passionate region of the world, it is our responsibility to ensure that the competition is carried out in the spirit of integrity and honest efforts,” AFF general secretary Dato Sri’ Azzuddin Ahmad said.
“To ensure that takes place, we look forward to working with Sportradar to keep our competition clean; they will help inform the relevant stakeholders about what is at stake and will help us keep a vigilant eye over this wonderful tournament.”
Andreas Krannich, managing director integrity services at Sportradar, added: “Our partnership with AFF marks another strong component of a very joined up and collaborative network across Asia.
“As the world looks for models that work, our individual relationship with the AFF plus the context of collaboration that the relationship sits in across the region should be considered an example for stakeholders across the world.”
