Sports technology provider Stats Perform has announced a four-year extension of its partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), which will see Stats Perform manage data for the England national team.
As part of the extension, Stats Perform will use its Opta data platform to handle data for several key home ECB events, including the Royal London One-Day Cup and the LV= Insurance County Championship.
Opta’s data collection will also provide up-to-date information on the ECB app and website, along with providing automated video clipping and highlight production.
Opta data will also support outputs on the ECB official website and app for its The Hundred event during the summer.
“We are delighted to renew terms with the ECB extending our partnership, meaning that we have been working together for over a decade,” said Alex Rice chief rights officer at Stats Perform.
“We are looking forward to working with the ECB on their data syndication strategy and are delighted to have the opportunity to commercialise their data leveraging our advantage of the OPTA cricket brand and the trust that carries in the market.”
In addition, England national team coaches and backroom staff will be given access to Stats Perform’s ProVision tool, which will aid in player tracking and opposition study.
“I’m really pleased to be continuing and expanding our partnership with Stats Perform,” said Tony Singh, chief commercial officer of ECB.
“Giving our media and technology partners the highest quality data helps bring matches to life for fans whenever they are as well as helping our coaching teams with their player analysis. we can now extend these benefits to the First Class Counties and The Hundred teams as well, ensuring they’re all equipped with the very best data to drive performance and engagement.”
