SBC to move flagship trade show to Lisbon in 2024

SBC said it was moving the event as it had outgrown the capacity of Fira Barcelona Montjuïc.

Previously named SBC Summit Barcelona, the event will now be known as SBC Summit 2024.

The show will take place on 24-26 September 2024 at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL). The new location features 100,000 square metres of exhibition and conference space.

The events business said the extra capacity will enable it to host 25,000 at the show. It added it now will be able to have 600 exhibitors at the space, as well as host 500 speakers.

“The decision for a new home for our flagship event was driven by its remarkable growth, which had clearly outpaced the capacity of Fira Barcelona Montjuïc, as well as praise and support from clients and industry stakeholders,” said SBC founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark.

“When we say it’s the fastest-ever growing event in the industry, we mean it, and that’s why finding the right venue and city was absolutely essential.”

The news comes in the wake of Clarion Events announcing it would be moving its tentpole gambling trade show, ICE, to Barcelona from 2025.
