Afilias confirms public availability for .BET domains

Domain registry operator Afilias has announced the new .BET internet suffix is now available to the public.

Launched in January, the domain has been developed specifically for the betting, gambling and gaming markets.

Registration was limited to eligible trademark holders until February 4, before it was opened up through a Dutch auction format from February 8-12 and later a landrush period.

Afilias has now expanded this further with confirmation of open registration for the new domains, with .BET names available to the public.

Roland LaPlante, chief marketing officer at Afilias, said: “Any entity that deals with betting, wagering, or casino gaming is a perfect candidate for a .BET address! .BET is the new top-level domain that was created for the large and growing online betting and gambling community.”
