Boyd hails success of Nevada’s first sports app
Boyd Gaming has announced that it wants to add live video streaming to Nevada’s first licensed mobile betting app after a successful launch this summer.
The Miomni-powered B Connected Race & Sports app has offered gamers in the US state the chance to bet on races and sports events in a single mobile application for the first time since it went live in June.
B Connected Race & Sports is available to all Boyd customers, who must open an account with the operator at one of its Nevada sports books before then downloading the free app to their iOS or Android device.
The app offers odds on major sporting events as well as horse racing from more than a dozen tracks around the US.
“This is a landmark moment for the industry, and for Boyd Gaming,” said Bob Scucci, director of race and sports for Boyd Gaming's Nevada region. “Our customers have embraced the convenience and excitement of wagering on sports events on their mobile devices.
“Today, we're proud to be the first in Nevada to offer the same level of functionality and flexibility to horse bettors with the B Connected Sports & Race app.”
Miomni said it spent more than a year developing and testing the application, which offers the same bets that are available at a land-based sports book.
The two operators said future versions of the app will include video, enabling customers to watch live races and replays.
“We are thrilled to provide the first mobile sports wagering app in Nevada to include pari-mutuel horse betting,” said Mike Venner, Miomni Gaming’s chief executive. “Miomni's technology will help introduce the sport of horse racing to an entire new generation of fans.”
