World Poker Tour unveils social casino platform

The World Poker Tour (WPT) has announced the launch of ‘PlayWPT’, a new social casino service.

Launched in partnership with Ourgame International Holdings, parent company of the WPT, the platform is available worldwide and currently supports social poker and slots.

Poker players will be able to access various ring games, tournaments and sit-n-gos, with the in-game currency strategically limited in order to offer what the WPT said is a more “competitive” and “authentic” poker environment.

PlayWPT slots currently feature a three-game series ‘Time Slots’, which includes an interconnected story, designed to offer an immersive experience for players.

Users can access the service via desktop and via Facebook, with a mobile version of the platform to launch at the end of the third quarter.

Adam Pliska, chief executive and president of the WPT, said: “The PlayWPT platform is the foundation for WPT’s revolutionary approach to the social casino gaming space.
