BetVictor launches new-look Golden Goal
BetVictor has unveiled an updated version of its ‘Golden Goal’ competition ahead of the start of the 2017-18 English Premier League season this weekend.
Punters that take part in the free-to-play weekly contest will continue to predict both the time of the first goal and goalscorer in a selected game, but now also the correct score.
The prize pool for the opening weekend will be £50,000 (€55,300/$65,300) and this amount will roll over and increase weekly by £25,000 if there is no winner.
Once the Golden Goal is won, the prize pool will revert to £25,000 each week, and if more than one customer wins in any given week, the total prize on offer that weekend will be shared.
Customers who correctly predict the minute and scorer of the first goal but not the correct score will receive a free £5 bet, while all BetVictor account-holders will receive one free prediction each week and will also earn up to two additional predictions by placing real-money bets on any BetVictor product.
Eoin Ryan, head of sportsbook product at BetVictor, said: “By adding ‘Correct Score – 90 mins’ into the prediction mechanic we will produce bigger winning dividends and more rollovers and excitement.
“Once the goalscorer and goal minute are confirmed, we will be publishing live information about the remaining predictions in contention via social media and we are positive that customers will enjoy this additional level of excitement.”
BetVictor will run the Golden Goal competition for the first time in the 2017-18 season during the match between Manchester United and West Ham United on August 13.
